David M Cash holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He then joined IXICO Ltd., a clinical research organisation specialising in medical imaging analysis, where for five years he helped run large scale multicentre imaging studies as part of Alzheimer’s Disease trials. These trials were both pharmaceutical funded phase II and III trials of promising therapies for Alzheimer's. In August 2011, he joined University College of London in a joint position between the Dementia Research Centre and Centre for Medical Image Computing to lead the translation of imaging biomarkers from the latter to use in large scale dementia studies. He is currently leading the UCL team on the structural MRI analysis of the international Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network (DIAN), a global study of families with early onset familial AD.
