Dr. Stig W. Omholt (Dr. Philos) is professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and Director of Centre for Integrative Genetics, a core facility in functional genomics and systems biology funded by the Research Council of Norway (www.cigene.no). He has a broad experience in theoretical biology, has worked for several years as an experimental biologist, and has the last five years lead a collaborative theoretical-experimental project with Ole Petter Ottersen on modelling the neuron-astroglia interaction. Omholt is a driving force behind getting genetics theory and methodology linked with the Virtual Physiological Human initiative, as well as addressing ageing with multicscale and multiphysics modelling.Relevant publications.
