Dr. Jochen Keupp

Jochen Keupp studied physics at the University of Bonn, University of Tokyo/Japan, and University of Hannover an obtained his diploma in 1998. In 2002, he obtained in PhD degree with a thesis in experimental quantum optics (laser physics, atom wave interferometry, optical atomic precision clocks) at the group of Prof. W. Ertmer (U Hannover). In April 2003, he joined the Philips Research Laboratories in Hamburg, Germany. Since then, he has been working in the field of MRI methodology and MR quantification, with over 20 publications in whole-body MRI, MR molecuar imaging and quantitative MR methodology. As a senior research scientist, he is leading a research project on MR quantification including MR diffusion and novel MR contrasts like MR oxygenation imaging, amide proton transfer and electrical properties tomography, based on worldwide collaborations with over 10 luminary clinical sites (Europe, US, Asia). His interestes include MR pulse sequence design, MR imaging of other non-proton nuclei, quantitative image analysis and exploration and evaluation of emerging clinical MRI application fields.
